Drawing insight from the natural world was fundamental in the development of ‘Skydam’. Located at the terminus of the Skytrain’s Canada Line, this proposed installation evokes Richmond’s history. As the beaver changes the hydrology of its environment to create more favourable habitat, the people of Richmond have, over time, altered and dyked the Fraser River and Pacific Ocean, allowing their community to grow and prosper.
