Completed while at Hapa Collaborative, this commemorative sculpture pays tribute to Jim Deva, a beloved West End community member, business owner, and advocate for free speech and equality in Vancouver’s LGBTQ2+ community.  The piece functions as a stage, a soapbox, an amplifier, a bubble machine, and an umbrella.  The colour pallet references the original rainbow flag, which included pink and turquoise representing sexuality and art.  These colours were ultimately edited from the flag, but are fittingly included in this artwork.
